Job Description – Smart Metering Field Technician (Digital
Meter Installation)
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Smart Metering Field Technician for digital electricity meter
installation and field operations. The candidate will be responsible for installation, replacement, testing, and
maintenance of smart meters at customer locations.
Job Responsibilities
• Installation and replacement of smart/digital electricity meters at residential and commercial locations.
• Conduct site visits and verify meter connectivity and wiring.
• Coordinate with customers during installation and explain basic meter usage.
• Perform meter testing, troubleshooting, and fault identification.
• Update installation status and reports through mobile applications or reporting systems.
• Ensure safety standards and company procedures are followed during field work.
• Maintain daily work records and submit reports to supervisors.
Required Skills
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and meter installation.
• Ability to work in field and outdoor environments.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to use mobile applications for reporting.
• Team handling and customer interaction skills are preferred.
Qualification
• ITI / Diploma / 12th Pass / Any Graduate.
• Electrical or technical background preferred.
Experience
• Freshers and experienced candidates can apply.
• Experience in electrical, solar, telecom, or smart metering projects will be an advantage.
