Location: Kolkata

Reports To: Directors / Founders

Position OverviewWe are looking for a proactive and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of multiple outlets of Uttapam – Flavours of South. The ideal candidate should ensure smooth functioning of restaurant operations, maintain high food and service standards, improve team productivity, and drive customer satisfaction and profitability.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesOperations ManagementSupervise day-to-day operations of all restaurant outlets.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen, service, billing, delivery, and housekeeping teams.
  • Maintain SOPs for food quality, hygiene, service, and presentation.
  • Monitor opening and closing procedures across outlets.
  • Ensure all operational issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Staff Management Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff.
  • Prepare staff duty rosters and manage attendance.
  • Monitor staff discipline, grooming, and performance.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for service standards and customer handling.
  • Build a positive and motivated work culture.
  • Customer ExperienceEnsure excellent guest service and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor online reviews on platforms like Zomato and Google.
  • Implement strategies to improve repeat customer experience.
  • Sales & RevenueMonitor daily sales reports and outlet performance.
  • Work on increasing average billing and repeat business.
  • Coordinate with marketing team for promotions and offers.
  • Control wastage and improve operational efficiency.
  • Inventory & Vendor ManagementMonitor stock levels and coordinate with purchase team.
  • Ensure proper inventory management and minimize wastage.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Conduct regular stock audits.
  • Hygiene & ComplianceEnsure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across all outlets.
  • Ensure licenses and operational compliances are up to date.
  • Follow FSSAI and local regulatory guidelines.
  • Reporting & CoordinationSubmit daily and weekly operational reports to management.
  • Analyze operational challenges and suggest improvements.
  • Coordinate with accounts, HR, kitchen, and delivery partners.
  • Monitor outlet profitability and operational KPIs.
  • Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality operations.
  • Experience in managing multiple outlets preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of restaurant POS systems and delivery platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage peak-hour operations.
  • Strong understanding of customer service and hospitality standards.
  • Preferred QualitiesHonest, disciplined, and result-oriented.
  • Hands-on operational approach.
  • Strong understanding of South Indian/QSR dining operations.
  • Ability to build systems and improve efficiency.
