MIS Engineer SAP PM (Port Operations)

Educational Qualification: Diploma/B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical)

37 years of experience in, MIS data handling and reporting, SAP PM module operations, SAP PR creation and tracking.

The MIS Engineer is responsible for maintaining accurate MIS data, supporting SAP PM module operations, and creating SAP Purchase Requisitions (PRs) to ensure effective maintenance planning, cost control, and data-driven decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities

Maintain and update daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to maintenance, equipment availability, downtime, and costs.

MIS & Data Management

• Maintain and update daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to maintenance, equipment availability, downtime, and costs.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data across systems.
• Analyze maintenance and operational data to identify trends and improvement areas.

SAP PM Module Operations

• Capture day-to-day activities in SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) module.
• Create, update, and close:

a) Maintenance notifications

b) Preventive and breakdown work orders.

• Maintain master data:

a) Equipment and functional locations.

b) Maintenance plans and task lists.

• Monitor work order status, backlog, and compliance.

SAP Purchase Requisition (PR) Creation

• Create SAP PRs for:

a) Maintenance spares

b) Services and contracts

c) Capital and operational items

• Ensure correct:

a) Material codes

b) Cost centers

c) GL accounts

d) Technical specifications

• Coordinate with procurement, stores, and vendors for PR follow-up and closure.

Maintenance Planning & Coordination

• Support maintenance planning by providing accurate MIS and SAP data.
• Track spare parts consumption and critical spares availability.
• Assist in shutdown, annual maintenance, and major repair planning.

Reports & Documentation

• Prepare and circulate:

a) Maintenance performance reports

b) KPI reports (MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability)

• Maintain proper documentation of PRs, work orders, and maintenance records.
• Support audits and management reviews.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of SAP PM.
• Experience in SAP PR creation and processing.
• Advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, dashboards).
• Basic understanding of maintenance processes and KPIs.
