JOB DESCRIPTION: LIC BIMA SAKHI
Position Overview
The LIC Bima Sakhi is a certified financial advisor and insurance representative specializing in community-level financial inclusion. Operating primarily in rural, semi-urban, and localized neighborhood networks, the Bima Sakhi acts as a bridge between the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and households. The primary mandate is to spread financial literacy, identify family protection needs, and secure livelihoods through affordable micro-insurance and standard life insurance products.
This is a flexible, entrepreneurial role designed to empower motivated individuals with financial independence, professional identity, and unlimited earning potential.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Prospecting & Community Outreach
Conduct doorstep financial awareness campaigns and village/neighborhood meetings (Mohalla Sabhas).
Leverage local social networks, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and community forums to identify potential clients.
Build long-term, trust-based relationships within the community to make life insurance a household priority.
2. Financial Need Analysis & Advisory
Interact with families to understand their financial standing, future goals (e.g., child’s education, marriage), and protection risks.
Explain the benefits of savings, risk cover, and long-term financial security using simple, non-technical language.
Recommend suitable, low-ticket micro-insurance or standard LIC savings plans that fit the household budget.
3. Policy Sourcing & Documentation
Guide clients through the onboarding process, including filling out proposal forms accurately.
Assist clients with necessary documentation, KYC compliance (Aadhaar, PAN, Age Proof), and standard medical declarations.
Collect and deposit initial premiums safely with the branch or designated satellite offices.
4. Customer Service & Portfolio Management
Ensure high policy persistence by reminding clients to pay their renewal premiums on time.
Assist policyholders with service requests such as address changes, nominee updates, or loan applications against policies.
Act as the primary point of contact for families during the claims settlement process (maturity or death claims), ensuring hassle-free processing.
