Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Development Engineer will be responsible for visiting industrial and commercial customers, developing relationships with key decision-makers, identifying opportunities related to power quality and electrical system performance, and generating qualified inquiries for the technical sales and engineering teams.


The role is highly field-oriented and requires regular customer visits, lead generation, and follow-up activities to build a strong sales pipeline.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Conduct regular visits to industrial plants, commercial facilities, utilities, OEMs, consultants, and EPC contractors.
  • Identify potential customers requiring power quality studies, audits, monitoring, and corrective solutions.
  • Generate new business inquiries through direct customer interactions and networking.
  • Develop and maintain a database of prospective customers and projects.
  • Track upcoming projects, plant expansions, modernization activities, and electrical upgrades.


Customer Engagement

Meet Plant Heads, Maintenance Managers, Electrical Engineers, Energy Managers, Purchase Teams, and Management personnel.

Understand customer challenges related to:

  • Harmonics
  • Low Power Factor
  • Voltage Fluctuations
  • Capacitor Bank Failures
  • Transformer Overheating
  • Electrical Reliability Issues
  • Energy Monitoring Requirements
  • Arrange technical discussions between customers and the engineering team.


Sales Pipeline Management


  • Qualify opportunities and gather technical and commercial information.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams for proposal preparation.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and quotations.
  • Maintain opportunity status and update CRM regularly.
  • Support negotiations and order closure activities.



Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships with customers and consultants.
  • Develop referral channels through electrical contractors, panel builders, consultants, and system integrators.
  • Represent the company at industry events, seminars, and exhibitions.
