Job Description
- Assist Sonologist / Radiologist: Provide support to sonologist / Radiologist before, during, and after ultrasound procedures. Prepare examination rooms, assist patients onto examination tables, and position patients for imaging as directed by the sonographer.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the ultrasound process. Communicate with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and provide reassurance when necessary. Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor at all times.
- Operate Equipment: Familiarize yourself with ultrasound equipment and assist in its setup and calibration. Handle equipment properly and follow safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure accurate imaging results.
- Image Capture: Aid sonographers in capturing high-quality ultrasound images by adjusting equipment settings, assisting with probe manipulation, and monitoring patient positioning. Remain attentive to detail to ensure optimal image clarity and resolution.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Record detailed information about ultrasound examinations, including patient demographics, imaging techniques used, and any relevant observations or findings. Accurately transcribe verbal findings from sonographers into written reports.
- Report Writing: Compile comprehensive ultrasound reports based on sonographers' findings and observations. Organize information in a clear, concise, and structured format, adhering to established guidelines and protocols. Review reports for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, including radiologists, physicians, and other members of the medical team. Communicate findings and relay any pertinent information in a timely manner to facilitate patient care and treatment decisions.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance initiatives to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Follow established protocols for infection control, patient privacy, and safety measures in the ultrasound department.
