Mechanical Design Engineer

Design and develop mechanical components, structures, and heavy fabrication assemblies as per customer requirements.

Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, GA drawings, fabrication drawings and BOMs.

Work on heavy fabrication, structural and engineering components.

Understand customer drawings, specifications and convert them into manufacturing-ready designs.

Select appropriate materials, sections, welding details, tolerances and manufacturing processes.

Coordinate with Production, Fabrication, Quality, Purchase and Project teams for smooth execution of projects.

Modify and optimize existing designs for cost reduction, manufacturability and improved performance.

Review drawings and ensure dimensional accuracy, GD&T, welding symbols and manufacturing requirements.

Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, drawing revisions and BOMs.

Support production team in resolving design-related issues and provide technical solutions.

Coordinate with customers for technical clarifications and drawing approvals.

Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and safety requirements.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design & Engineering Drawing.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo/Inventor or equivalent).

Knowledge of GD&T, welding symbols, fabrication processes and material specifications.

Experience in heavy fabrication, structural fabrication or engineering manufacturing will be preferred.

Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to read and understand customer drawings and specifications.
