1. Job PurposeThe Chief Security Manager will be responsible for managing the complete security operations of the manufacturing plant, warehouse, office premises and other company locations.
The role involves security planning, manpower management, access control, gate management, asset protection, visitor management, incident prevention, emergency response and coordination with police and local authorities.
- 2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Security OperationsPlan and manage overall security operations for the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure the safety and security of employees, visitors, company property, raw materials, finished goods and machinery.
- Prepare and implement security procedures, SOPs and emergency protocols.
- Conduct regular security inspections and identify security risks.
- Ensure 24/7 security coverage as per company requirements.
- Monitor security posts and ensure proper deployment of security personnel.
- B. Security Manpower ManagementManage Security Officers, Supervisors, Guards and contract security personnel.
- Prepare duty rosters, shift schedules and manpower deployment plans.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, grooming and performance of security staff.
- Conduct regular briefing and roll-call meetings.
- Train security personnel on emergency response, access control, fire safety and company security procedures.
- Take corrective action for negligence, misconduct and security violations.
- C. Gate & Access ControlControl entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, vehicles and materials.
- Maintain proper gate-entry and gate-exit records.
- Implement visitor pass and vehicle pass systems.
- Verify employee and contractor identification.
- Monitor movement of company materials, tools and equipment.
- Ensure proper authorization for material inward and outward movements.
- Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- D. Factory & Asset SecurityProtect plant buildings, machinery, raw materials, finished goods, vehicles and other company assets.
- Monitor vulnerable areas and improve security arrangements.
- Conduct regular perimeter and plant inspections.
- Ensure proper locking and opening procedures for sensitive areas.
- Monitor CCTV systems and security surveillance.
- Coordinate with Administration and Maintenance teams for security-related infrastructure.
- E. CCTV & SurveillanceMonitor CCTV surveillance systems across the plant and warehouse.
- Ensure cameras are operational and properly positioned.
- Maintain CCTV monitoring records and incident footage.
- Coordinate with IT/Maintenance teams for CCTV maintenance and repairs.
- Review CCTV footage during incidents, theft, disputes or security violations.
- F. Material & Vehicle ControlMonitor movement of raw materials, finished goods, scrap, tools and equipment.
- Verify gate passes and supporting documents before material dispatch.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Maintain vehicle entry/exit records.
- Coordinate with Stores, Dispatch and Purchase teams for material movement verification.
- Prevent unauthorized removal of company property.
- G. Incident & Emergency ManagementRespond immediately to security incidents and emergencies.
- Investigate theft, unauthorized access, property damage, fights, accidents and other security-related incidents.
- Prepare incident reports and submit them to management.
- Implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Fire & Safety teams during emergencies.
- Ensure emergency gates and access routes remain clear.
- H. Police & Government CoordinationMaintain professional coordination with local police and government authorities.
- Report serious security incidents to management and authorities when required.
- Assist management during police enquiries and investigations.
- Maintain records of police complaints, incidents and legal/security matters.
- Develop good relations with local authorities and the surrounding community.
- I. Contractor & Labour SecurityMonitor entry and exit of contract labour.
- Verify contractor manpower documentation as required by company policy.
- Control unauthorized movement of labour within restricted areas.
- Coordinate with HR/Admin regarding employee and contract-worker security matters.
- Monitor labour-related disputes and immediately escalate potential security risks.
- J. Security Audit & Risk ManagementConduct periodic security risk assessments.
- Identify vulnerable locations and recommend corrective measures.
- Conduct surprise security checks.
- Audit security registers, gate records, visitor records and vehicle records.
- Prepare monthly security performance reports for management.
- Develop preventive measures against theft, pilferage, unauthorized access and other security threats.

- 5. QualificationGraduate in any discipline.
- Degree/Diploma in Security Management will be an advantage.
- Ex-servicemen / Defence personnel with relevant industrial security experience will be preferred.
- 6. Experience8–15 years of relevant security experience.
- Experience in manufacturing plants, factories, warehouses, industrial facilities or large organizations preferred.
- Experience managing large security teams and multiple shifts.
- Experience in handling factory gate security, material movement and CCTV surveillance.

8. Preferred Candidate ProfileCandidates with experience in manufacturing industries, FRP/polymer factories, engineering plants, warehouses, industrial facilities or large-scale production units will be preferred.
Ex-servicemen and candidates with strong experience in industrial security operations and security manpower management will have an advantage.
