Bike Mechanic

TWO WHEELER MECHANIC –

A           ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES          `

      I.         Core Repair & Service Work General Servicing: Engine oil change, air filter cleaning, spark plug check, chain lubrication & tightening, brake adjustment

     II.         Engine Work: Engine dismantling/assembly, piston & ring replacement, valve grinding, clutch plate change, carburettor /FI cleaning & tuning

   III.         Brake & Suspension: Disc brake pad replacement, drum brake service, fork oil change, shock absorber repair

   IV.         Electrical: Battery check, wiring repair, headlight, indicator, horn, self-starter motor, fuse replacement. Diagnose short circuitsTires & Wheel: Puncture repair, tire change, wheel alignment, bearing replacement

B            Diagnosis

      I.         Take customer complaint → inspect vehicle → identify root cause

    II.         Use diagnostic tools for FI bikes to read error codes

   III.         Test ride after repair to confirm issue is resolved

C            Customer Interaction

    i.           Explain the problem and required repairs to customer in simple terms

   ii.           Suggest preventive maintenance and service due dates

  iii.           Give service estimates and maintain job cards

D           Workshop Operations

      I.         Maintain tools and equipment. Report damages

    II.         Keep service bay clean and follow safety protocols

   III.         Track spare parts used and inform supervisor when stock is low

IV.             Maintain service records and warranty documentation

Basically: Responsible for keeping bikes safe, smooth, and road-ready from basic service to full engine rebuild.

E            Key Skills Needed

      I.         Technical: Engine, gearbox, electrical, and FI system knowledge

     II.         Tools: Hand tools, torque wrench, compression tester, multimeter, OBD scanner

   III.         Other: Problem solving, time management, basic computer for billing/job card entry

   IV.         Must have: Valid 2-wheeler license
