Bakery & Pastry Trainer

Job Summary

A Bakery Instructor is responsible for teaching students or trainees the fundamentals and advanced techniques of baking and pastry production. The instructor provides practical and theoretical training in bakery operations, ensuring students develop professional skills in bread making, pastry preparation, cake decoration, hygiene, and kitchen safety.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver classroom and practical training in bakery and pastry arts.

Teach baking techniques such as bread making, cake production, pastries, cookies, desserts, and confectionery.

Demonstrate proper use of bakery equipment, tools, and machinery.

Train students in ingredient selection, measurements, mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing techniques.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (FIFO, HACCP, personal hygiene).

Prepare lesson plans, training schedules, and instructional materials.

Assess student performance through practical exams, assignments, and projects.

Guide students in recipe standardization, costing, and menu planning.

Monitor kitchen discipline, cleanliness, and safety procedures.

Stay updated with current bakery trends, modern techniques, and industry practices.

Support placement activities, internships, and industry exposure programs.

Qualifications

Diploma / Degree in Bakery, Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or Hotel Management

Professional certification in baking is preferred

3–5 years of bakery production or teaching experience

Preferred Experience

Experience in hotels, bakeries, pastry kitchens, or culinary institutes

Prior teaching/training experience preferred
