Job Description

The Inventory Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the company's inventory to ensure the availability of materials while minimizing stock shortages and excess inventory. The role includes managing stock records, supervising store operations, coordinating with procurement and production teams, and ensuring accurate inventory reporting.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesInventory ManagementMonitor and maintain optimum inventory levels.
  • Ensure accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
  • Maintain inventory records in ERP/Inventory Management Software.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual stock verification.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Store OperationsSupervise all store and warehouse activities.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
  • Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper organization of the warehouse.
  • Material PlanningCoordinate with Procurement for timely replenishment of stock.
  • Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels.
  • Prevent stock-outs and overstock situations.
  • Review slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
  • DocumentationMaintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), Stock Transfer Notes (STN), and Return Notes.
  • Prepare daily inventory reports and stock movement reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits.
  • Team ManagementSupervise Store Supervisors, Store Keepers, and Helpers.
  • Allocate work and monitor team performance.
  • Train staff on inventory procedures and company policies.
  • CoordinationCoordinate with Production, Purchase, Accounts, Sales, and Logistics departments.
  • Ensure timely material availability for production requirements.
  • Resolve inventory-related issues with vendors and internal departments.
  • Audit & ComplianceSupport internal and external inventory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and documentation.

ReportingPrepare and submit:

  • Daily Stock Report
  • Monthly Inventory Report
  • Slow-moving Inventory Report
  • Stock Aging Report
  • Inventory Variance Report
  • Material Consumption Report
  • Physical Stock Verification Report
