Position: Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager (RSM) / National Sales Manager (NSM)

Job SummaryThe Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market coverage, developing distributor networks, and managing sales teams within the assigned territory. The candidate should have strong FMCG sales experience, distributor management skills, and the ability to achieve sales targets.
- Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentAchieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Increase product availability and visibility in the assigned territory.
- Develop new markets and expand distribution reach.
- Identify business opportunities and execute growth strategies.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
- Distributor ManagementAppoint and develop new distributors where required.
- Ensure distributor profitability and business sustainability.
- Monitor distributor stock levels and secondary sales.
- Resolve distributor issues and maintain strong business relationships.
- Team ManagementLead, motivate, and monitor Sales Officers, Sales Representatives, and Salesman Cum Drivers.
- Conduct regular market visits and joint working.
- Provide training and guidance to the sales team.
- Review performance and ensure target achievement.
- Market ExecutionEnsure effective implementation of promotional activities and schemes.
- Improve product placement, merchandising, and visibility.
- Monitor retail coverage and outlet productivity.
- Ensure proper execution of company sales policies.
- Reporting & AnalysisSubmit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Analyze sales performance and take corrective actions.
- Maintain market intelligence and customer database.
- Track primary and secondary sales performance.
- 3–8 years of FMCG sales experience.
- Experience in Mouth Freshener, Confectionery, Snacks, Beverages, or similar FMCG products preferred.
- Strong distributor and channel sales management experience.
