An Overseas Education Student Counsellor acts as a crucial guide for students navigating the complex journey of studying abroad. They combine career counseling, sales, and administrative expertise to help students select the right destinations, universities, and courses while managing the end-to-end application and visa processes.

Job Summary

The Overseas Education Counsellor is responsible for advising prospective students on international study options, matching their academic profiles and career goals with suitable global universities, and driving the enrollment pipeline. This role requires excellent communication skills, deep knowledge of international education systems, and a strong focus on relationship-building and conversion targets.

Core Responsibilities

1. Student Counseling & Advising

 Profile Evaluation: Assess students' academic backgrounds, language proficiency scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE), financial budgets, and career aspirations.

 Course & University Selection: Recommend suitable countries (e.g., USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany), universities, and programs that align with the student's profile.

 Career Guidance: Help students understand global job market trends and the long-term career outcomes of their chosen fields.

2. Application & Admission Management

 Document Verification: Review and verify academic transcripts, Statements of Purpose (SOP), Letters of Recommendation (LOR), and resumes.

 Submission Tracking: Guide students through the university application portals and ensure all deadlines are strictly met.

 Liaison: Coordinate with university admissions teams to track application statuses, secure offer letters, and resolve student queries.

3. Visa Guidance & Financial Advising

 Visa Assistance: Provide accurate, up-to-date guidance on student visa requirements, documentation checklist, and interview preparation.

 Financial Consultation: Advise students and parents on tuition fees, living expenses, bank loan requirements, and available scholarships.

4. Business Development & Conversion

 Lead Conversion: Follow up diligently with inquiries generated through marketing campaigns, website sign-ups, and walk-ins to convert them into registered students.

 Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of student interactions, application stages, and conversion metrics in the company CRM.

 Outreach: Participate in education fairs, webinars, and institutional visits to represent the organization and attract prospective students.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

 Degree: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Business, Marketing, Psychology, or International Relations is preferred).

 Experience: Typically 1–4 years of experience in overseas education counseling or international student recruitment. Experience dealing with specific high-demand destinations (like the UK, Canada, or Europe) is highly valued. Freshers with exceptional communication skills are often considered for junior roles.
