Restaurant Captain

Job Summary:

The Restaurant Captain plays a key leadership role on the floor, ensuring smooth service, maintaining guest satisfaction, and leading the service team by example. They bridge the gap between customers, staff, and management, ensuring every shift runs efficiently and guests have a memorable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Experience:
• Greet guests warmly and ensure excellent service throughout their visit.
• Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Make personalized recommendations on food and beverages.

• Team Supervision:
• Lead, train, and support service staff during shifts.
• Delegate tasks such as table assignments, order taking, and clearing.
• Ensure team members follow service protocols and grooming standards.

• Order & Service Flow:
• Ensure timely order taking, kitchen coordination, and food delivery.
• Double-check orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation.
• Maintain table turnover efficiently without compromising guest comfort.
• 
  
• Coordination & Reporting:
• Coordinate between kitchen and service teams to manage timing and priorities.
• Report daily shift performance, customer issues, and team feedback to management.
• Maintain inventory of service materials and escalate replenishment needs.
• 
  
• Upselling & Billing:
• Actively upsell dishes, sides, and beverages to boost average bill value.
• Ensure accurate billing and smooth payment experience for customers.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 2–4 years experience in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel.
• Strong knowledge of F&B service procedures and customer handling.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Problem-solving ability and a calm demeanor under pressure.
• Team-player with a positive attitude and high attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of POS systems and billing software.

Working Conditions:

• Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
