Desktop Support Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Desktop / Server Support Engineer with 1–2 years of experience to provide technical support, maintain IT systems, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure to desktop troubleshooting and basic server administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Trouble shooting of all types of Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Printers, CCTV and Biometric devices) 
• Good experience in Installation, configuring & troubleshooting of OS, MS Outlook or Outlook Express, Office 365. 
• Installation and Managing of Antivirus products taking Regular data backup and restoration of data & mail backup of MS outlook (PST files). 
• Configuring & troubleshooting of Desktop/Laptops for L1 level & Managing data backup and recovery. 
• Managing of DNS, Active Directory, basic Window server 
• Troubleshooting basic thin client issues. 
• Basic troubleshooting of networking LAN, WAN, basic installation and configuration of Routing & Switching). 
• Call logging to ISP for LAN / WAN link & PRL line issues & having good knowledge in IPV4 addressing. 
• Resolving tickets within the SLA which is raised from End User side supporting through floor support/Remote support & Call support. 
• Installation and managing of Video conferences. 
• Administering disaster recovery plans to ensure that data is backed up and can be restored in case of failure 
• Monitoring network performance to ensure that there are no bottlenecks or errors that could impact productivity 
• Installing operating systems on computers, testing them for errors, and backing them up regularly 
• Maintaining computer equipment by replacing or upgrading components as needed 
• Installing patches to fix security vulnerabilities in computer systems 
• Configuring new systems for installation based on specifications from clients or other IT professionals 
• Installing and maintaining computer networks, including printers and other peripherals 
• Troubleshooting problems with existing systems and implementing solutions to fix them 
• Monitoring server performance and capacity to ensure that it meets client needs 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• 6 months to 1+ years' experience in desktop support / IT helpdesk
• Good knowledge of:
• Windows 10/11
• Linux flavours
• Basic Windows Server concepts
• Active Directory (user management)
• Networking basics (IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Strong troubleshooting skills (hardware & software)
