A CCTV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting CCTV surveillance systems and related security equipment.

Job Summary:

The CCTV Technician installs, configures, tests, and maintains CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems, access control systems, and other security devices. The technician ensures all surveillance systems operate efficiently and provides technical support when required.

• Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and configure CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and IP camera systems.
• Perform cable laying, termination, and testing (UTP, coaxial, fiber, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and repair CCTV system faults.
• Configure network settings for IP-based surveillance systems.
• Install and maintain access control, biometric, and alarm systems.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and system inspections.
• Test equipment to ensure proper functionality and image quality.
• Respond to service calls and resolve customer issues promptly.
• Maintain installation records and service reports.
• Follow safety standards and company procedures during installation and maintenance.
• Required SkillsKnowledge of analog and IP CCTV systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routers, switches).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Experience with DVR/NVR configuration and remote viewing setup.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic electrical and electronic knowledge.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• QualificationsDiploma or ITI in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Hardware, or a related field.
• Certification in CCTV or security systems is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience in CCTV installation and maintenance (preferred, depending on the role).
• Working ConditionsWork at customer sites, commercial buildings, offices, factories, and residential properties.
• May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and traveling to different locations.
• Occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance may be required.
