Accountant

Sahara Industry is looking for detail-oriented accountants to manage daily accounting activities, statutory compliance, payroll-related records and export documentation. Candidates must have practical knowledge of GST, Professional Tax, TDS, ESI and PF.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, including purchase, sales, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile customer, supplier and general ledger accounts.
• Handle GST return preparation, filing and input tax credit reconciliation.
• Manage TDS calculations, deductions, payments and quarterly return preparation.
• Handle Professional Tax, ESI and PF calculations, payments, returns and related records.
• Assist with payroll processing and maintain employee-related statutory records.
• Prepare and verify export documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists and supporting shipping documents.
• Coordinate with banks, customs clearing agents and internal teams for export documentation and payment records.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, follow up on outstanding payments and prepare ageing reports.
• Prepare monthly accounting reports and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants for audits, filings and compliance requirements.
• Maintain organised financial records and ensure timely completion of assigned work.

Qualifications and Skills

• B.Com, M.Com or an equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Relevant hands-on experience in accounting and statutory compliance.
• Working knowledge of GST, Professional Tax, TDS, ESI, PF and export documentation is essential.
• Proficiency in Tally or similar accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical ability, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication, coordination and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
• Experience in a manufacturing or export organisation will be an advantage.
