About the Role
PortaSpaze is looking for an experienced Fabrication & Installation Foreman to lead the on-site assembly and installation of portable cabins, modular structures, and container-based infrastructure.
The role will involve supervising the installation of imported/pre-engineered cabin components, ensuring correct measurements, alignment, structural assembly, finishing, and timely execution at project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of 4–10 fitters, fabricators and helpers at site.
- Execute and supervise assembly, installation and structural fabrication of portable cabins and modular structures.
- Understand and work from fabrication, structural and assembly drawings.
- Interpret measurements, dimensions, sections, joints and installation details.
- Carry out and supervise cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, drilling, bolting and finishing wherever required.
- Ensure proper squareness, level, plumb, alignment and structural integrity during installation.
- Plan the fabrication/assembly sequence and allocate manpower accordingly.
- Plan material usage and minimise material wastage.
- Coordinate unloading, positioning and assembly of imported cabin components.
- Identify site-level fabrication or installation issues and find practical solutions.
- Check workmanship and ensure the finished cabin meets PortaSpaze's quality standards.
- Coordinate with the project/site team regarding materials, manpower, tools and installation requirements.
- Maintain productivity and ensure work is completed within the planned timeline.
- Take ownership of the installation work from material/component receipt through final finishing and handover.
We are looking for a hands-on leader who can take charge of a site team and get the cabin installed correctly.
This is not a pure welding/fabrication position. The candidate should be comfortable taking responsibility for team supervision, assembly, installation, quality and execution.
