Job SummaryMalgudi Holidays is looking for a hardworking, disciplined, and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to support the kitchen team in daily food preparation, cleaning, maintenance, and smooth kitchen operations. The Kitchen Helper will work closely with the chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and efficiency.

• Key Responsibilities1. Food Preparation SupportAssist chefs with basic food preparation activities.
• Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as instructed.
• Help with preparation and arrangement of ingredients before meal service.
• Assist in preparing items for breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner, barbecue, and special events.
• Carry ingredients and supplies safely within the kitchen and storage areas.
• 2. Kitchen Cleaning & HygieneWash and clean utensils, crockery, kitchen equipment, and cooking vessels.
• Keep kitchen workstations, preparation areas, sinks, and storage areas clean.
• Ensure floors are cleaned regularly and kept free from spills and hazards.
• Follow proper waste disposal and garbage segregation procedures.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• 3. Kitchen OperationsAssist chefs during busy meal service periods.
• Help in receiving and storing food supplies and kitchen materials.
• Ensure ingredients are stored properly as instructed by the chef.
• Assist in maintaining refrigerators, dry stores, and kitchen storage areas in an organised condition.
• Inform the supervisor about shortages, damaged items, or maintenance requirements.
• 4. Support for Events & Special ServicesAssist the kitchen team during weekend barbecues and pizza service.
• Support food preparation for corporate groups, school groups, events, and special functions.
• Help with buffet setup and replenishment as required.
• 5. Safety & Food StandardsFollow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
• Follow instructions regarding handling of hot equipment, knives, and cleaning materials.
• Wear the required uniform and maintain proper grooming standards at all times.
• Skills & RequirementsMinimum 8th / 10th standard preferred.
• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or commercial kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and during busy periods.
