Quality Control Head – Candle & Home Fragrance Manufacturing

Delta Exports is looking for an experienced Quality Control Head to lead the complete quality function at our candle manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of candle production, export quality standards, vendor development and quality control of handicraft materials sourced from manufacturing clusters such as Moradabad, Firozabad, Saharanpur and Khurja.

This is a senior, hands-on role requiring close involvement in raw-material inspection, production quality, supplier quality, final shipment approval and corrective action implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the complete Quality Control team, including QC Executives and inspectors.

Establish and maintain quality standards for candles, home-fragrance products, packaging and handicraft components.

Conduct incoming material inspection, vendor QC, in-process QC, pre-final inspection and final shipment inspection.

Ensure that every shipment meets buyer specifications, approved samples, testing requirements and delivery schedules.

Coordinate with production, merchandising, procurement, sampling, packaging and dispatch teams to ensure timely and quality-compliant shipments.

Manage the sampling and product-development quality process from initial prototype to bulk-production approval.

Prepare and maintain product specifications, approved standards, inspection reports, test records and quality documentation for every product.

Identify defects and quality risks during procurement, production, finishing, assembly and packing.

Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive action plans.

Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure that quality issues do not recur.

Improve supplier quality through vendor audits, incoming-material inspections, process validation and supplier training.

Conduct regular in-process audits of manufacturing processes, machinery, production methods and finished products.

Validate new materials, suppliers, production processes and product constructions before bulk production.

Resolve quality problems related to wax, fragrance, wicks, glass, metal, ceramic, wood, marble, packaging and other product components.

Ensure compliance with buyer quality manuals, internal SOPs, testing requirements and export standards.

Track rejection, rework, wastage and customer complaints and implement measurable improvement plans.

Prepare daily and weekly quality reports for management and highlight critical risks before they affect shipment.

Take final responsibility for approving products and shipments from a quality perspective.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within an export manufacturing environment.

At least 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or departmental leadership role.

Experience in candles, home fragrance, handicrafts, home décor, glassware, metalware, ceramics or similar hard-goods categories.

Strong understanding of candle manufacturing processes, quality defects and product-testing requirements will be highly preferred.

Practical knowledge of AQL inspection, root-cause analysis, CAPA, supplier audits and process-control systems.

Ability to read buyer specifications, technical sheets, approved samples and inspection standards.

Strong documentation, reporting, team-management and interdepartmental coordination skills.

Willingness to work closely on the factory floor and take direct ownership of quality performance.

Candidates from candle manufacturing export houses will receive preference.

Preferred Knowledge

Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:

Wax and fragrance quality

Wick selection and candle-burning performance

Glass, ceramic, metal, marble and wooden components

Candle testing, burn testing and stability testing

Packaging quality and transit testing

Export buyer inspections and third-party inspections

Supplier development and vendor quality improvement

We are not looking for someone who only prepares inspection reports. We need a strong quality leader who can identify problems early, work with production and suppliers, implement permanent solutions and build a disciplined quality culture throughout the factory.
