Mechanical Site Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Site Engineer to supervise and manage steel structure fabrication and erection activities at project sites. The candidate will be responsible for site execution, manpower coordination, quality control, safety compliance, and ensuring that work is completed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage steel structure fabrication and erection activities at project sites.
• Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate and monitor erection of structural steel members, including columns, beams, trusses, platforms, staircases, handrails, and other MS structures.
• Check fabrication work, dimensions, alignment, levels, welding, bolting, and connections.
• Review and interpret GA drawings, fabrication/shop drawings, and erection drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication teams, riggers, welders, crane operators, subcontractors, and site manpower.
• Plan daily work activities and monitor progress against the project schedule.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, tools, equipment, cranes, and other resources.
• Conduct site measurements and prepare daily progress reports, material requirements, and work records.
• Coordinate with the design, planning, QA/QC, safety, and project management teams.
• Monitor material receipt, identification, storage, handling, and installation at site.
• Ensure welding and bolting activities are carried out as per approved procedures and specifications.
• Identify site issues and coordinate for timely resolution to avoid delays.
• Ensure proper alignment, level, plumb, and dimensional accuracy of erected structures.
• Coordinate inspection and rectification of fabrication and erection activities.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and applicable IS/industry standards.
• Strictly follow and enforce HSE/Safety procedures during fabrication, lifting, and erection activities.
• Maintain proper documentation, checklists, inspection records, and site reports.
• Coordinate with clients/consultants during inspections and site activities.
• Monitor project progress and report delays, technical issues, and site requirements to the Project Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering or related field.

4–5 years of relevant experience in steel structure fabrication and erection.

Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, welding, bolting, and site execution.

Ability to read and understand fabrication, GA, shop, and erection drawings.

Knowledge of lifting and erection methods, including crane and rigging operations.

Good knowledge of MS/steel structures and fabrication processes.

Knowledge of quality control and site safety requirements.

Good communication, coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and basic AutoCAD will be an added advantage.

Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required
