Cashier

About the Role

As a Cashier, you are a person of trust — responsible for accurate billing, day-to-day cash and accounts management, and maintaining clean financial records at the store level. You will work in close coordination with the Head Office accounts team and are expected to bring both retail billing competence and a basic understanding of accounting practices to the role.

Key Responsibilities 

• Process customer transactions accurately using the POS billing system — cash, card, UPI, and other payment modes 
• Issue receipts, invoices, and exchange/return documentation as per store policy 
• Maintain day-to-day store accounts and cash book entries with accuracy 
• Record product inward and outward entries and assist with stock movement documentation 
• Manage e-way bill generation for applicable stock transfers and dispatches 
• Conduct daily cash reconciliation and submit end-of-day reports to the Head Office accounts team 
• Report any billing discrepancies, cash irregularities, or suspicious transactions immediately to the Head Office accounts team 
• Assist with GST-related documentation and basic compliance tasks as required 
• Maintain organised filing of all billing, accounts, and inventory records 
• Support the store team during off-peak hours as needed 

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a cashiering, billing, or junior accounts role — preferably in retail 
• Working knowledge of Tally or similar accounting software 
• Proficiency in MS Excel — data entry, basic formulas, and daily reporting 
• Familiarity with e-way billing and GST documentation 
• Basic understanding of product inward/outward processes and stock entries 
• Strong numeracy and meticulous attention to detail 
• Unimpeachable integrity and reliability — this is a position of financial trust 
• Pleasant, customer-friendly demeanour at the billing counter 
• Minimum graduation in Commerce (B.Com preferred) 

Good to Have

• Prior experience in a retail or premium lifestyle store 
• Familiarity with POS billing systems 
• Basic English communication skills
