2. ABOUT THE ROLE
IWLD runs a large, active weight-loss content operation: daily vlogs, reels, podcasts, student transformation stories and lives across Instagram and YouTube. Much of this content is made by IWLD’s own Creators, including the Creators living at the Goa hostel under Mission 365 (the Hostel Creators Program). Most of them join with no social media background and are trained from zero.
The Social Media Trainer is the person who turns these beginners into confident, consistent Creators. You teach them how to speak on camera, shoot and edit on a phone, find ideas, use trends, write hooks and captions, post correctly and read their numbers. You also upskill the production and posting team on platform best practices.
This is a hands-on role. You do not just teach in a classroom: you shoot alongside the Creators, review their content every day, give clear corrections and track their progress until each person is signed off as ready to work independently.
You are accountable for training quality. If a trained Creator cannot do the basics, it is this seat’s responsibility to find the gap and fix it.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Training Plan and Curriculum
• Build and maintain a structured social media training curriculum (modules, sessions, practice tasks and hours) with Gayatri Sahu and the Learning & Development team.
• Create separate tracks for new Creators (from zero), Mission 365 Creators and existing media team members.
• Prepare simple training material in Hindi and English: checklists, reference videos, scripts, examples and do’s and don’ts.
• Update the curriculum every month based on platform changes, new trends and gaps seen in trainees’ work.
• Plan the weekly training calendar and share it in advance with trainees and their managers.
B. Training New Creators from Zero
Most Creators join without any social media experience. You must take them through the basics step by step:
• How Instagram and YouTube work: Reels, Shorts, long-form videos, Stories, lives, the algorithm and what drives reach.
• Setting up and maintaining a professional profile: bio, highlights, profile picture, pinned posts and content pillars.
• Understanding IWLD’s brand, teachings, audience and the purpose of each content type.
• Studying top creators in weight loss, fitness and lifestyle, and learning what makes their content work.
• Building a daily posting habit and consistency from the first week.
C. On-Camera Confidence and Presenting
• Remove camera shyness through daily practice: talking-to-camera drills, self-introductions and short pieces.
• Teach voice, energy, expressions, body language and eye contact on camera.
• Train Creators to speak naturally without a script, and to deliver a strong hook in the first 3 seconds.
• Prepare Creators to shoot in public places, interview students and handle lives and Q&As confidently.
D. Shooting and Editing on Phone
• Teach shooting on phone (iPhone and Android) and on simple gear: gimbal, tripod, wireless mic, ring light and DJI Osmo Pocket.
• Cover framing, vertical and horizontal formats, lighting, audio, camera angles and B-roll.
• Teach basic phone editing (e.g. CapCut, InShot, VN, Instagram editor): cuts, jump cuts, captions, subtitles, text, music and transitions.
• Train Creators to turn one shoot into several pieces: a reel, a Short, story clips and a long-form segment.
E. Content Ideas, Trends and Storytelling
• Teach how to find daily content ideas from hostel life, food, workouts, weigh-ins, student journeys and IWLD teachings.
• Train Creators to spot and adapt trending audios, formats and challenges to IWLD’s message.
• Teach storytelling: hooks, before-after contrast, emotion, humour, curiosity and a clear ending or call to action.
• Run regular idea sessions where each Creator pitches and plans their content for the week.
F. Posting, Captions and Analytics
• Teach correct posting: captions, hashtags, keywords, thumbnails, covers, titles, timing and tagging.
• Train Creators to reply to comments and DMs in IWLD’s tone, and to pass student or sales enquiries to the right team.
• Teach how to read insights: views, reach, watch time, retention, saves, shares and follower growth.
• Hold weekly performance reviews with each Creator to show what worked, what did not and what to change.
G. Training the Media Team
• Run refresher and upskilling sessions for videographers, the Production Coordinator, the Posting Coordinator and other media team members on platform best practices.
• Share new features, trend updates and format changes with the team as they come.
• Train new joiners in the media team on IWLD’s content standards during their induction.
H. Daily Practice, Feedback and Content Review
• Shoot alongside trainees on real shoot days and correct them on the spot.
• Review every trainee’s content before posting during training, and give clear, specific feedback.
• Share good and bad examples so trainees understand the standard expected.
• Follow up until corrections are actually applied in the next piece of content.
I. Assessments and Sign-Off
• Conduct weekly practical assessments (on-camera, shooting, editing, ideas, posting) using a clear scoring checklist.
• Track each trainee’s progress against the training plan and flag anyone falling behind to Gayatri Sahu early.
• Recommend when a trainee is ready to be signed off as Certified, and give an honest written assessment when a trainee is not suitable.
• Coordinate with the Hostel Coordinator so Mission 365 Creators’ training fits their hostel schedule and program milestones.
J. Brand Sensitivity and IWLD Message
IWLD content involves real people, body image and weight-loss journeys. You must train every Creator to ensure:
• Students are always shown with respect, and no one is mocked for weight, body, food habits or emotions.
• Consent is taken before filming students, and sensitive personal or medical details are never shared without approval.
• Diet, health and weight loss are spoken about only as per IWLD teachings, with no medical claims or advice given on their own.
• Content never copies other creators’ work, uses unlicensed material or shares fake results.
K. Account Ownership, Confidentiality and Platform Safety
• Make sure every Creator understands that Creator accounts are owned by IWLD, and that login details, content and followers stay with the company.
• Train Creators on account security: strong passwords, two-factor authentication and never sharing logins outside the approved process.
• Teach platform rules and community guidelines so accounts do not get strikes, restrictions or bans.
• Treat all training material, curriculum and content strategy you create at IWLD as company property, and keep it confidential.
L. Training Records and Reporting
• Maintain attendance, session records and assessment scores for every trainee on Google Sheets / the dashboard.
• Keep training material organised on Google Drive, module-wise and date-wise.
• Send a weekly training report to Gayatri Sahu covering progress, gaps, trainee performance and next steps.
M. Daily Checklist
• Run the day’s planned training sessions on time.
• Review the content trainees shot or posted the previous day and give feedback.
• Join at least one shoot to coach trainees on the spot.
• Check trainees’ posting and insights for the day.
• Update attendance and progress in the training tracker.
• Flag any trainee who is falling behind or not following brand guidelines.
• Share a short daily update with Gayatri Sahu.
