Job Description

The Senior Bartender is responsible for leading all bar operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience. The role requires expertise in mixology, liquor knowledge, inventory control, team leadership, and ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, service, and profitability. The Senior Bartender is expected to maintain consistency in beverage quality and uphold the reputation of Masale Goa.

Key Responsibilities

Bar Operations

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as per standard recipes.
  • Create and maintain signature cocktails, mocktails, and seasonal specials.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Supervise opening and closing procedures of the bar.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar at all times.

Customer Service

  • Welcome guests warmly and recommend beverages based on their preferences.
  • Provide excellent hospitality and build rapport with regular customers.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Promote premium spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail specials through suggestive selling.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Maintain daily stock records of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts.
  • Minimize wastage, pilferage, and breakage.
  • Monitor pour costs and ensure proper peg measurements.
  • Coordinate with management for timely procurement and replenishment.

Team Leadership

  • Train and mentor bartenders and bar assistants.
  • Prepare duty rosters and allocate responsibilities.
  • Ensure discipline, punctuality, and grooming standards.
  • Motivate the team to achieve sales and service targets.

Compliance & Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with Goa Excise Rules and responsible alcohol service.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain clean glassware, bar equipment, refrigerators, and storage areas.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of liquor and beverages.

Cash & POS Operations

  • Process guest bills accurately through the POS system.
  • Verify bar sales and prepare end-of-day reports.
  • Reconcile cash, card, UPI, and digital payment transactions.
  • Coordinate with accounts for daily sales reconciliation.

Menu Development

  • Assist management in developing new cocktails and beverage menus.
  • Recommend profitable beverage promotions and pairing options.
  • Stay updated with current beverage trends and mixology techniques.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of bartending experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of IMFL, imported spirits, wines, beers, cocktails, mocktails, and bar operations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and inventory management.
  • Certification in bartending or hospitality is preferred.

Working Hours
