Job Summary

Hotel Tushar Elegant is looking for an experienced Continental Chef (Commis 1 / Commis 2) with a minimum of 4 years of experience in hotel or restaurant kitchens. The candidate should have good knowledge of Continental cuisine, strong kitchen discipline, and the ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of Continental dishes according to standard recipes.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
• Handle daily mise en place and ensure all ingredients are prepared on time.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
• Monitor food quality and freshness of ingredients.
• Coordinate with the Chef and other kitchen team members during service.
• Assist in menu preparation and new dish development when required.
• Maintain proper storage and minimize food wastage.
• Follow portion-control and food-cost procedures.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and workstations are clean and properly maintained.
• Support smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Follow hotel policies and food-safety standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or professional kitchen.
• Previous experience in Continental cuisine is required.
• Experience as Commis 1 / Commis 2 or equivalent preferred.
• Good knowledge of Continental cooking techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong team-player attitude and discipline.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food-safety practices.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
