CNC Machine Operator — Job Description*
*Role Summary*
A CNC Machine Operator runs computer numerical control machines — mills, lathes, grinders, routers — to cut, shape, and finish metal, plastic, or composite parts to exact specifications from engineering drawings.
*Key Duties & Responsibilities*
- *Machine Setup*: Load raw stock, install and touch-off tools, set work offsets G54-G59, clamp fixtures per setup sheet
- *Program Operation*: Load G-code/M-code programs, dry-run to verify paths, adjust feeds and speeds as needed
- *Production Runs*: Start and monitor machining cycles, watch for tool wear, chatter, broken tools, or coolant issues
