Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities 

1. Site Supervision & Assistance 

  Assist in supervising the trenching, cable laying, and backfilling processes to ensure they meet project standards. 

  Monitor the installation of trackside equipment (Signals, Location Boxes, Point Machines) under the guidance of senior staff. 

  Ensure site labour and subcontractors are working efficiently and following safety instructions. 

2. Documentation & Reporting 

  Maintain the Daily Progress Report (DPR) and update the Senior Engineer on work completed vs. planned. 

  Assist in measuring quantities of work done (cable length, trenching depth) for billing purposes. 

  Manage site material inventory (cables, relays, equipment) and report any shortages immediately. 

3. Testing Support 

  Learn and assist in performing basic cable tests: Continuity, Insulation Resistance (Megger), and Loop resistance. 

  Support the testing team during "Non-Interlocking" (NI) work and pre-commissioning checks. 

4. Safety Compliance 

  Ensure that all workers on site are wearing appropriate PPE (helmets, jackets, safety shoes). 

  Act as a safety watchman when required to alert the team of approaching trains. 

Working Conditions Checklist

  Willing to relocate to nearby remote project site 

  Comfortable standing/walking for long hours
