Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and technically competent Technical Sales Engineer who can manage customer relationships, support tender activities, conduct product presentations, coordinate service issues, and drive business growth, particularly within the Railway sector. The candidate should possess strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently handle customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Promote the company's Fire Safety, Fire Suppression, and Railway-related products and solutions.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in Railways, Metro, Government Departments, and Industrial sectors.
  • Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and customer meetings.
  • Introduce and discuss new products with customers and railway authorities.

Railway & Government Liaison

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Railway Officials, Railway Workshops, Production Units, Depots, and Government Departments.
  • Regularly visit Railway offices and customer locations to generate business opportunities.
  • Coordinate with consultants, inspectors, and project authorities for approvals and business development.

Tender Management

  • Monitor Railway and Government tenders.
  • Follow up on submitted tenders and coordinate internally for bid submissions.
  • Assist in preparing techno-commercial offers, compliance sheets, and tender documentation.

Service & Customer Support

  • Coordinate with internal service teams for resolution of customer complaints and service-related issues.
  • Ensure timely support and customer satisfaction during pre-sales and post-sales stages.

Payment Collection

  • Follow up with customers for outstanding payments.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Department to ensure timely collection and reconciliation of payments.

Documentation & Correspondence

  • Draft professional letters, emails, technical communications, and customer correspondence.
  • Prepare customer visit reports, meeting minutes, sales reports, and follow-up records.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all customer interactions and business activities.

Required Skills

  • Good technical understanding and customer-handling capability.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of tendering procedures and government procurement processes.
  • Excellent letter drafting and business correspondence skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong follow-up and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience working with Indian Railways, Railway Production Units, Workshops, Metro Rail, or Railway Contractors will be highly preferred.
  • Experience in Fire Safety, Fire Suppression Systems, Industrial Equipment, Electrical, Mechanical, or Railway Products will be an added advantage.
  • Self-motivated, target-oriented, and capable of working independently.
