Position: Business Development Manager

Location: South Delhi (Shakuntlam Showroom/Office) — with travel across Delhi NCR

Reports to: Founder/Director

About Shakuntlam

Shakuntlam is a Delhi-based flooring and wall solutions company dealing in tiles, wooden flooring, wall panels, and carpet tiles, serving architects, interior designers, and contractors across Delhi NCR through our South Delhi showroom.

About the Role

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth by building and managing relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, and builders, while identifying new project and distribution opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, approach, and onboard new architects, ID firms, contractors, and builders as regular clients/referral sources
  • Manage and grow existing relationships with the architect/ID community for repeat business
  • Convert leads from JustDial, BNI referrals, walk-ins, and other channels into closed sales
  • Visit project sites, meet clients, and present product ranges (tiles, wooden flooring, wall panels, carpet tiles)
  • Prepare and negotiate quotations, proposals, and commercial terms with clients and dealers
  • Track competitor activity, pricing, and market trends in the flooring/wall solutions space
  • Coordinate with the showroom team and back-office for order execution, samples, and delivery timelines
  • Build and manage a pipeline in CRM/Excel; report weekly on leads, conversions, and revenue against targets
  • Represent Shakuntlam at industry events, exhibitions, and BNI/networking forums
  • Explore and develop distribution tie-ups with manufacturers/brands where relevant

Requirements

  • Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred
  • 3–7 years in B2B sales/business development, ideally in building materials, interiors, furnishings, or real estate-adjacent categories
  • Existing network with architects, interior designers, or contractors in Delhi NCR is a strong plus
  • Comfortable with target-driven sales and field visits (not a desk-only role)
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Good written/verbal communication (English + Hindi)
  • Two-wheeler/car for site visits preferred

Skills

  • Consultative selling (understanding project needs, not just pushing catalogues)
  • Pipeline and CRM discipline
  • Basic product knowledge or willingness to learn tiles/flooring/wall panel specs quickly
  • Networking and lead generation instinct

Compensation: Fixed + performance incentive on sales (structure to be discussed)
