Project Supervisor

The Solar Site Survey Engineer conducts pre-feasibility assessments, physical dimension measurements, and technical evaluations for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects. This role serves as the bridge between on-ground physical realities and the engineering design team, capturing accurate structural, civil, electrical, and shadow data to ensure feasible system designs and accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).

Key Responsibilities

• Site Feasibility & Physical Measurements:
• 
  
• Visit prospective residential, commercial, industrial, and ground-mount project sites to evaluate installation viability.
• Measure total roof/ground dimensions, available shadow-free area, parapet heights, azimuth, tilt angles, and structural obstructions (e.g., vents, chimneys, water tanks, trees).
• Record structural conditions (RCC, tin shed, sheet profile, purlin spacing, ballast requirements) to determine suitable mounting structure designs.
• Electrical Infrastructure Assessment:

• Inspect client electrical setups, including Main LT/HT panels, transformer ratings, busbar capacities, meter locations, and grid connection points.
• Measure cable route lengths (DC from array to inverters; AC from inverters to LT/HT panels) and assess available cable tray pathways.
• Check existing earthing setups, earth pits, soil conditions, and lightning protection systems to plan project earthing requirements.
• Data Capture & Technical Reporting:

• Compile comprehensive Site Survey Reports (SSR) detailing site parameters, GPS coordinates, shadow profiles, and structural observations.
• Capture high-resolution photographs and 360° videos of the roof, access points, panel boards, and proposed inverter stations.
• Produce clear hand sketches and preliminary AutoCAD layout drawings to transfer site data to the design team.
• Cross-Functional Coordination & Safety:
• 
  
• Coordinate with project engineers and design teams to clarify site constraints and resolve technical bottlenecks before procurement.
• Identify site access routes, material lifting/crane arrangements, and staging/storage area feasibility.
• Follow occupational health and safety standards during visits, especially while working at heights or near live electrical equipment.
