Transport Manager – Operations & Business Development

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Transport Manager to lead both transportation operations and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management :

1) Manage and coordinate daily transportation operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods.

2) Maintain strong relationships with transport vendors, including:

* 20-foot trailer operators

* 40-foot trailer operators

* Small vehicle providers for last-mile delivery

3) Negotiate rates, monitor vendor performance, and ensure timely vehicle availability.

4) Develop and expand a reliable network of transport partners.

5) Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

6) Monitor delivery performance, costs, and operational efficiency.

Business Development & Marketing: 

1) Identify and acquire new customers for transportation and logistics services.

2) Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

3) Prepare quotations, negotiate contracts, and close business opportunities.

4) Develop strategies to increase revenue and market presence.

5) Coordinate with customers and operations teams to ensure high service levels.

Required Qualifications

1) Proven experience as a Transport Manager, Logistics Manager, or similar role in the transportation and logistics industry.

2) Strong existing network of transport vendors, including trailer operators (20-ft and 40-ft) and last-mile delivery vehicle providers.

3) Demonstrated ability to source new customers and generate business.

4) Experience handling both operational and commercial/marketing functions.

5) Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

6) Good understanding of transportation planning, fleet management, and logistics operations.

7) Ability to work independently and achieve business growth targets.
