Job Description
The Senior Finance Executive will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day financial operations while ensuring healthy cash flow, timely collections, effective fund utilization, and accurate accounting.
The role will also involve end-to-end fund raising, coordination with financial institutions and stakeholders, and supporting management in financial and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of accounts.
- Monitor accounts payable, receivables, expenses, and outstanding payments.
- Coordinate with auditors, accountants, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports and MIS.
2. Funds & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor and manage daily cash flow and fund requirements.
- Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow projections.
- Ensure optimum utilization of available funds.
- Plan payments and expenses based on business priorities and cash availability.
- Identify potential cash flow gaps and proactively address them.
3. Collection & Receivables Management
- Take ownership of customer collections and outstanding receivables.
- Monitor ageing reports and ensure timely follow-up on overdue payments.
- Coordinate with the sales team to improve collection efficiency.
- Develop and maintain collection plans for major customers.
- Track DSO and other relevant receivables KPIs.
4. Fund Raising – End-to-End
- Identify suitable funding requirements and financing opportunities.
- Coordinate with banks, NBFCs, investors, and other financial institutions.
- Prepare financial documents, MIS, projections, and supporting information required for funding.
- Manage the complete fund-raising process from requirement identification to disbursement.
- Negotiate with financial institutions wherever required and ensure competitive financing terms.
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance throughout the funding process.
5. Operations Management
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth financial and operational processes.
- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Support management in improving internal processes and financial controls.
- Ensure timely execution of finance-related operational activities.
6. Sales & Business Support
- Work closely with the Sales and Business Development teams on customer credit, payment terms, collections, and outstanding amounts.
- Evaluate customer payment behaviour and support management in making credit-related decisions.
- Monitor the financial impact of sales orders, credit periods, and customer commitments.
- Support sales operations from a financial and commercial perspective.
7. Management Reporting & MIS
- Prepare regular financial and management reports.
- Provide management with insights on cash position, collections, payables, receivables, and funding requirements.
- Track key financial KPIs and highlight deviations.
- Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial management.
- Excellent understanding of cash flow and working capital management.
- Strong experience in collections and receivables management.
- Practical experience in fund raising and financial institution coordination.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with Sales, Operations, and Management teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Ability to handle financial information with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Strong ownership, decision-making, and execution skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounts, Fund Management, or a similar role.
- Candidates with experience in fund raising, working capital management, collections, and cash flow management will be preferred.
- Experience working in a growing organization or SME environment will be an advantage.
- Should be comfortable taking independent ownership of finance-related activities.
- Should have a strong commercial understanding and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
