JOB DESCRIPTION – RETAIL SALES COUNTER STAFF

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome customers warmly and understand their requirements

• Show suitable products based on the customer’s age, size, occasion, preference and budget

• Explain product features, sizes, colours, designs and prices clearly

• Actively assist customers in selecting the right products and sizes

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly and respectful attitude

• Focus on achieving individual and counter-wise sales targets

• Suggest matching or additional products to improve customer experience and sales

• Develop strong product knowledge about all items available in the assigned counter

• Keep the sales counter, shelves and display area clean, neat and well arranged

• Ensure products are properly folded, arranged and returned to the correct place after showing customers

• Monitor stock availability, missing sizes and fast-moving products and inform the supervisor

• Take responsibility for the stock and products handled in the assigned counter

• Assist in stock checking, barcode checking and physical stock verification when required

• Immediately report any stock mismatch, damage, wrong barcode or missing product to the supervisor

• Coordinate with other sales staff and counters during busy hours

• Attend customers without delay and ensure no customer is left unattended

• Handle customer complaints and difficult situations politely and inform the supervisor when necessary

• Follow the company’s billing, exchange and customer service policies correctly

• Maintain proper grooming, punctuality, attendance and discipline

• Follow all company SOPs and instructions given by the supervisor and management

• Support the team during weekends, festivals, seasonal sales and high-customer periods

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in textile, fashion, kidswear or ladieswear retail is preferred

• Good communication and customer-handling skills

• Ability to understand customer needs and recommend suitable products

• Sales-focused and willing to work towards targets

• Energetic, active and comfortable working in a busy retail environment

• Basic knowledge of sizes, colours and fashion products is an advantage

• Responsible, disciplined and willing to work as part of a team

• Freshers with good communication skills and interest in retail sales may also apply
