Job Description

A telecaller in the machine selling industry (e.g., industrial equipment, manufacturing machines, construction tools, etc.) plays a mix of sales, customer support, and lead-generation roles. Here’s a clear breakdown of their roles and responsibilities:

 

🔹 Core Roles

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

• Identify potential customers such as factories, workshops, contractors, or distributors

• Make outbound calls to generate interest in machines

• Maintain a database of prospects and update regularly

 

🔹 Sales Responsibilities

2. Product Promotion

• Explain machine features, specifications, and benefits in simple terms

• Highlight value propositions like durability, efficiency, ROI, and after-sales service

• Customize pitch based on industry

3. Handling Inbound & Outbound Calls

• Answer customer inquiries about machines, pricing, and availability

• Follow up on leads from Indiamart Leads & Enquiries, marketing campaigns or website inquiries

• Cold calling to introduce products to new clients

4. Lead Qualification

• Understand customer requirements (budget, usage, capacity needs)

• Filter serious buyers from general inquiries

• Pass qualified leads to field sales executives or managers

 

🔹 Customer Relationship Management

5. Follow-ups & Conversion Support

• Regularly follow up with interested clients

• Share quotations, brochures, and technical details

• Coordinate with the sales team to close deals

6. Customer Support

• Address basic concerns or queries about machines

• Escalate technical issues to engineers or technical teams

• Ensure customer satisfaction before and after purchase

 

🔹 Coordination & Documentation

7. CRM & Reporting

• Update CRM systems with call details, customer feedback, and sales progress

• Track daily call metrics (calls made, leads generated, conversions)

• Prepare reports for management

8. Coordination with Internal Teams

• Work with:

o Sales team (for closing deals)

o Technical team (for demos/specifications)

o Logistics team (for delivery updates)

 

🔹 Market Intelligence

9. Competitor & Market Feedback

• Gather information about competitor machines and pricing

• Provide customer feedback to improve products or sales strategy

 

🔹 Key Skills Required

• Strong communication & persuasion skills

• Basic technical understanding of machines

• Familiarity with CRM tools and MS Excel
