Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Factory Manager to oversee the complete operations of our garment manufacturing facility. The role involves managing production planning, manpower allocation, line setup, efficiency improvement, quality compliance, and timely order execution.

In addition to production management, the Factory Manager will play a key role in establishing efficient production lines for new styles, conducting operation-wise garment costing, determining per-piece manufacturing costs, and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of garment manufacturing processes from Cut-to-Pack (CMT), industrial engineering principles, production costing, and workforce management.

  • Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & ExecutionPlan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Ensure on-time completion of customer orders.
  • Coordinate with cutting, stitching, finishing, packing, and dispatch teams.
  • Monitor production progress and take corrective actions to prevent delays.
  • Maintain optimal machine and manpower utilization.
  • 2. Production Line Setup & BalancingAnalyze garment construction and operation sequence before production starts.
  • Design and establish efficient production lines for new styles.
  • Conduct line balancing to achieve target output and efficiency.
  • Determine machine requirements and operator allocation for each style.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve workflow and production methods.
  • 3. Industrial Engineering & Cost AnalysisPrepare operation breakdown sheets for every garment style.
  • Conduct SAM (Standard Allowed Minute) studies and time-motion analysis.
  • Calculate:
  • Operation-wise production time
  • Manpower requirements
  • Machine requirements
  • Daily production capacity
  • Per-piece manufacturing cost
  • Analyze actual production costs versus planned costs.
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Assist management in evaluating order profitability before acceptance.
  • 4. Productivity & Efficiency ManagementMonitor line efficiency and productivity daily.
  • Establish productivity benchmarks for operators and lines.
  • Track key production metrics such as:
  • Efficiency %
  • DHU (Defects per Hundred Units)
  • Rework %
  • Operator productivity
  • Cost per piece
  • Implement productivity improvement initiatives.
  • 5. Workforce ManagementManage production supervisors, line leaders, operators, helpers, and contract workers.
  • Plan manpower allocation based on production requirements.
  • Conduct performance reviews and training programs.
  • Ensure discipline and attendance compliance on the production floor.
  • Develop skill matrices and cross-training plans.
  • 6. Quality ManagementCoordinate with quality teams to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Minimize alterations, defects, and rework.
  • Ensure adherence to quality checkpoints across all processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection rates.
