Job Description

Job Summary:

The Press Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day press shop operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, safety norms, and machine efficiency are met. The role involves manpower handling, machine monitoring, process control, and coordination with maintenance, quality, and production planning teams. Should be able to handle a single shift. Have experience in , Tool Issue Diagnosis, Manpower handling, Team building

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Operations:

  • Supervise daily press shop activities to meet production targets.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of power presses, spm presses, and related tooling.
  • Monitor cycle time, productivity, and downtime; take corrective actions.
  • Ensure correct material usage and minimize scrap and rework.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure parts are produced as per drawing, control plan, and quality standards.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.

Manpower Management:

  • Allocate work to operators and helpers based on skill levels.
  • Train operators on machine operation, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor discipline, attendance, and performance of press shop personnel.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety norms and PPE usage in the press shop.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on presses, guards, sensors, and safety devices.
  • Report near-miss incidents and implement preventive actions.

Maintenance & Tooling:

  • Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and changeover of dies and tools.
  • Monitor die life and report abnormalities.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain production, rejection, downtime, and manpower records.
  • Support TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Prepare shift-wise reports and communicate issues to superiors.
