Equipment Operator

1. Pre-operation checks

• Inspect the machine for faults or damage
• Check controls, tires, guardrails, and emergency systems
• Ensure the platform is safe to use before starting work

2. Safe operation

• Handling the MEWP to required heights and positions
• Maintain stability on different terrains
• Follow load limits and manufacturer guidelines
• Avoid hazards like power lines, uneven ground, or obstacles

3. Worker safety

• Ensure all occupants wear proper PPE (helmets, harnesses if required)
• Use guardrails and fall protection systems correctly
• Maintain clear communication with ground personnel

4. Site awareness

• Assess risks in the work area (weather, slopes, traffic, overhead hazards)
• Set up barriers or warning signs if needed
• Follow site safety rules and permits

5. Emergency handling

• Know how to use emergency lowering systems
• Respond to equipment failure or accidents
• Assist in rescue procedures if required
