Electrical Technician

An Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Their role is hands-on and focuses on ensuring electrical systems operate safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities • Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures • Diagnose electrical problems using tools like multimeters and circuit testers • Repair or replace faulty components such as switches, motors, and circuit breakers • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics • Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance • Assist engineers or senior technicians in complex projects • Maintain records of repairs, maintenance, and installations Skills Required • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and circuits • Ability to read technical diagrams and manuals • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Familiarity with hand tools and electrical testing equipment • Attention to detail and safety awareness • Basic understanding of control systems and automation (in industrial roles) Qualifications • Diploma or ITI in Electrical or related field
