Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth and strengthen market presence within the assigned territory. The candidate will be responsible for developing school business, managing distributor networks, building strong relationships with school decision-makers, and achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive textbook adoption and institutional sales across schools within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Principals, School Management, Coordinators, and Key Decision Makers.
  • Manage and expand distributor, dealer, and bookseller networks.
  • Identify new business opportunities and increase market penetration.
  • Lead, mentor, and monitor a team of Sales Executives/Officers.
  • Conduct school presentations, product demonstrations, and promotional activities.
  • Ensure product availability, visibility, and timely execution of sales initiatives.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Editorial, and Operations for effective execution.

Candidate Profile

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PGDM preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in Educational Publishing, School Sales, Academic Solutions, EdTech, or related industries.
  • Strong network among schools, principals, distributors, and booksellers.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in team handling and territory management.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM/reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Preferred Background

Candidates from Educational Publishing, School Book Publishing, Academic Content Providers, EdTech, or K-12 Education Sales will be highly preferred.
