Role Overview

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembly, installation, and alignment of mechanical components, structural steel, and HILTI fastening systems at industrial project sites. This role supports TIPL's HILTI applicator vertical and broader mechanical construction works across steel plants, aluminium smelters, and PSU facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, fit, and align mechanical components including pipe supports, structural brackets, equipment foundations, and pre-engineered structures
• Carry out HILTI anchor bolt installation (mechanical anchors, chemical anchors, screw anchors) as per design specifications and HILTI PROFIS output
• Perform drilling operations using HILTI hammer drill machines for anchor hole preparation — correct diameter, depth, and angle as specified
• Assist in chemical grouting operations using HILTI HIT injection systems as per site engineer instructions
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, GA drawings, and HILTI anchor layout drawings
• Carry out fitting, assembly, and bolting of structural steel members, trusses, and pipe racks
• Perform basic alignment checks using spirit level, plumb bob, and measuring tape
• Maintain HILTI tool inventory and carry out routine preventive maintenance on site tools
• Adhere strictly to client site HSE requirements — LOTO, permit-to-work, and PPE compliance mandatory

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI – Fitter trade (NCVT / SCVT certified) — mandatory
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Mechanical Fitter on industrial construction sites
• Prior experience with anchor bolt installation, chemical anchoring, or HILTI systems is strongly preferred
• Ability to read and follow basic mechanical drawings and anchor layout plans
• Experience working in steel plant or heavy industrial environments (Tata Steel, JSPL, NALCO, IFFCO, SAIL, BHEL) preferred
• Must hold valid gate pass / medical fitness certificate as required by client sites
