Job Title: Solar Technician

Job Summary:

A Solar Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The role requires technical knowledge of electrical systems, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install solar PV panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting systems.
• Perform electrical wiring and connect solar systems to the power grid.
• Inspect and test solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty solar components and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and system performance checks.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Maintain accurate installation, maintenance, and service records.
• Communicate with customers regarding system operation and maintenance recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, electricians, and project managers.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Experience in solar PV installation or electrical work.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, solar energy technology, and safety regulations.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to work at heights, lift heavy equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license (preferred).

Preferred Skills:

• Solar PV installation certification.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Frequent climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs/23 kg), bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Occasional travel to different job sites.
• May require overtime or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
