## General Manager – Operations (GM Operations)

### Job Purpose

The *GM – Operations* will be responsible for overall operational management of the HDPE Pipe Manufacturing business, including production planning, plant operations, government orders, order execution, coordination with departments, delivery schedules, quality compliance, manpower management, and overall operational performance.

### Key Responsibilities

*1. Overall Operations Management*

* Manage and supervise day-to-day HDPE pipe manufacturing operations.

* Ensure production targets are achieved as per approved production plans.

* Monitor plant efficiency, productivity, manpower, material consumption, and operational costs.

* Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Purchase, Accounts, Dispatch, Sales, and Administration departments.

* Ensure smooth coordination between the factory and Head Office.

*2. Government Order Management*

* Manage execution of government department orders and institutional projects.

* Coordinate with government departments, contractors, project agencies, consultants, and authorized representatives.

* Monitor order status from purchase order/work order receipt through production, inspection, dispatch, and completion.

* Ensure timely compliance with government order requirements, specifications, documentation, and delivery schedules.

* Coordinate inspections, testing, approvals, and third-party inspection agencies wherever required.

* Maintain proper records of government orders, quantities, delivery schedules, inspection status, and pending requirements.

*3. HDPE Pipe Manufacturing*

* Supervise production planning for HDPE pipes as per customer and government specifications.

* Ensure manufacturing is carried out according to applicable BIS standards and approved technical specifications.

* Monitor raw material availability, production capacity, machine utilization, wastage, and finished goods.

* Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure product quality and testing compliance.

* Take corrective action in case of production delays, quality issues, breakdowns, or material shortages.

*4. Order & Delivery Management*

* Monitor complete order execution and ensure timely dispatch.

* Coordinate with Sales and Dispatch teams for delivery planning.

* Track pending orders, urgent requirements, production priorities, and delivery commitments.

* Resolve operational issues affecting customer or government project deliveries.

*5. Team & Manpower Management*

* Lead and manage Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Dispatch, and other operational teams.

* Allocate responsibilities and monitor departmental performance.

* Maintain discipline, attendance, productivity, and accountability of operational staff.

* Develop a performance-oriented work culture and ensure proper coordination between departments.

*6. Management & Reporting*

* Provide regular operational reports to the management.

* Present production status, order status, government project status, dispatch position, manpower requirements, and operational challenges.

* Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve productivity and profitability.

* Participate in management meetings and support strategic business decisions.

*7. Cost & Resource Management*

* Control manufacturing and operational costs without compromising quality.

* Monitor material utilization, wastage, overtime, manpower, maintenance, and other operational expenses.

* Ensure optimum utilization of plant machinery, manpower, and resources.

### Candidate Profile

* *Qualification:* Graduate / Diploma / B.Tech / MBA or equivalent; technical qualification in manufacturing/operations will be preferred.

* *Experience:* Preferably *10+ years* of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably HDPE/PVC pipes, plastic products, irrigation products, infrastructure, or similar industries.

* Experience in handling *government orders, tenders, institutional projects, and government department coordination* will be highly preferred.

* Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to independently manage plant operations and multiple government projects/orders.

* Strong knowledge of production planning, quality requirements, dispatch, documentation, and team management.

### Authority & Accountability

The GM – Operations will have responsibility for *overall operational coordination and execution* and will be accountable to the Management for achieving production, delivery, quality, manpower, cost, and government-order execution targets.
