Sr Manager, Strategic Finance

Position Summary:

This role will provide strategic finance support to our Corporate & Business Development team. The position requires strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Collaborating with functions across the company will be critical to success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct finance support for the Corporate & Business Development team
  • Lead M&A and integration related activities, including target identification, due diligence, financial analysis and valuation
  • Collaborate on key projects between corporate development, finance, accounting and other vested parties to ensure tight coordination and communication
  • Conduct periodic reviews and post-mortem analysis on our investment portfolio and prior deals
  • Acquire intense understanding of Illumina’s business today, and critical insights into where it is going in the future allowing for innovative concepts and the promotion of new ideas
  • Analyze, synthesize and translate data into key strategic inputs and insights that will drive decision making at the executive level
  • Maximize long-term shareholder value while protecting corporate assets

Requirements:

  • Typically requires 7+ years of managerial experience, preferably in a high growth environment
  • 3-7 years of investment banking (or equivalent) experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling; technical corporate finance and valuation skills a must
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to do complex scenario analysis and M&A models, including integration of data from Bloomberg
  • Fluent knowledge of the elements and drivers of income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow
  • Exceptional interpersonal soft skills and ability to establish strong rapport and partnerships at all levels of the organization and across constituencies
  • Self-directed and able to work well and communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated track record of attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Must be driven and highly motivated, with positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to quickly learn and acquire in-depth knowledge of new technologies and business processes while simultaneously becoming familiar with a wide range of data sources and reporting applications
