Job Purpose

To be aligned with our Finance Operations vertical and support Record-to-Report (RTR) operations by ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely close activities, and strong compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

The Record to Report team manages end-to-end accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and period close. The team plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting audits, and providing insights into financial performance while ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Record to Report value stream
    • Knowledge and hands-on experience in end-to-end RTR processes
    • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and finance teams
  • Role & Responsibilities
    • Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
    • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
    • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs forecast/budget)
    • Support preparation of financial reports and management reporting
    • Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements
    • Support audit activities and respond to audit queries
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation initiatives
    • Ensure adherence to SLAs, timelines, and quality standards
    • Support junior team members and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Coordination & Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with FP&A, Controllership, and business finance teams
    • Coordinate with upstream/downstream processes (AP, AR) for accurate inputs
    • Support issue resolution and ensure timely communication with stakeholders
    • Assist in managing escalations and ensuring closure within timelines
    • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Process Management & Reporting
    • Maintain reconciliation schedules, closing trackers, and reporting templates
    • Monitor open items and ensure timely resolution of balances
    • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all RTR activities
    • Support SOP updates and process documentation
    • Contribute to dashboards and performance reporting
  • Functional & Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of RTR lifecycle including close, reconciliation, and reporting
    • Hands-on experience in journal processing and financial analysis
    • Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP / IFRS) and compliance frameworks
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Blackline preferred)
    • Strong Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliations, reporting)
    • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field (B.Com/M.Com preferred)
  • Professional qualification (CA / CPA / ACCA – preferred but not mandatory)
  • 4–8 years of experience in RTR / General Accounting operations
  • ERP exposure (SAP / Oracle or similar systems) is required
  • Experience in shared services / GBS / consulting environment preferred
  • Exposure to month-end close, reporting, and audit support
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
