Role

 The role is for Transfer Agency (“TA”) business with specific responsibility to support Business as Usual (‘BAU”) in Bangalore/Pune, India.

The department is responsible for client processing and quality checking of transactions and updating the registers of our clients’ mutual funds in response to investor instructions.   

This department is responsible for several TA functions, including, but not limited to, Dealing, Registration, Settlement, Reconciliations, Distributions, Management Accounting, Fund Allocation and Client Reporting.

Shift timing-

Late EMEA/NA shift (subject to change based on business requirement)

Team Leader/Section Manager

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the TA functions activity processing and or QC
  • Coach and mentor new partners who join the team or are trained in new sub functions.
  • Assist on the queries and liaise with other departments where necessary
  • To work closely with the Technical Coordinator and Team Leader to review the process for gaps if any and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other areas to ensure smooth process flow.
  • Detail understanding of end to end process and strive to develop into a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role.
  • Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organized and controlled.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • 24-36 months experience in TA / banking operations.
  • Has eye for details and identify areas prone to frauds and implement necessary controls.
  • Capable to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build very good relationship across locations and functions
  • Excellence in execution 
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • To embrace change and proactively address issues through appropriate escalations
  • Strong analytical and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willingness to learn
  • Understanding of Mutual/Private Equity funds
