Cloud Automation & Infrastructure Support Engineer | Cloud Platforms, CI/CD, Security & High-Availability Solutions

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Platform / DevOps Engineer to support and optimize enterprise-grade applications within banking and financial services environments. This role involves managing deployment pipelines, supporting system stability, enhancing automation processes, and ensuring security compliance across cloud and on-premises systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and automation scripting, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and continuous delivery in high-availability settings.

Software Requirements

Required Software Proficiency:

  • CI/CD Tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins — hands-on experience designing, building, and managing automation pipelines supporting continuous integration and deployment (latest versions preferred)

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (support for deployment, scaling, and management) — extensive experience supporting critical enterprise applications (supporting 7+ years in cloud environments)

  • Automation Scripting: Python, PowerShell, Groovy — expertise in automating deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows supporting cloud and hybrid environments

  • Monitoring & Incident Management: CloudWatch, Nagios, Prometheus, Dynatrace — experience in system health, performance tuning, and incident detection support

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation — supporting environment setup, configuration, and automation (preferred)

Preferred Software Skills:

  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes support for scalable application deployment

  • Security tools: Support for encryption, vulnerability patching, and compliance management (preferred)

  • Configuration management tools supporting datacenter and cloud environments (Ansible, support support)

Overall Responsibilities

  • Support and optimize cloud and on-premises infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, ensuring high availability and security

  • Automate deployment processes, infrastructure provisioning, and operational workflows supporting CI/CD pipelines

  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and implement performance or security improvements proactively

  • Support system upgrades, patching, migrations, and disaster recovery planning supporting operational resilience

  • Collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to enforce best practices and support enterprise standards

  • Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, automation scripts, operational procedures, and security policies

  • Implement security controls, patch management, and vulnerability remediation processes supporting compliance requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives supporting automation, effectiveness, and efficiency across operational environments

  • Supporting hybrid cloud architectures, migration, and scaling support in regulated environments (preferred)

  • Strong troubleshooting experience resolving system failures, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities supporting compliance standards

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Manage and support automated deployment pipelines supporting continuous integration and delivery

  • Automate environment provisioning, configuration, and system management tasks supporting operational efficiency

  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve operational issues swiftly and effectively

  • Support cloud migration, infrastructure upgrades, and disaster recovery planning activities

  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to optimize architecture and enforce security policies

  • Update operational documentation, runbooks, and compliance reports supporting audit readiness

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, patch management, and security remediation activities supporting enterprise standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline

  • 7+ years supporting enterprise support automation, infrastructure, and operational workflows supporting high-availability systems

  • Certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred) supporting cloud architecture and automation practices

  • Proven experience supporting or managing automation pipelines, cloud environments, and enterprise infrastructure in regulated environments
