Where you will see your impact

As a member of our R&D organization, you will serve as the vital link between our engineering requirements and our external manufacturing partners. In this role, you will spend significant time on-site at supplier facilities, actively troubleshooting production processes, ensuring manufacturability, and coordinating the successful delivery of high-quality mechanical components. You will work with precision manufactured components for high-end medical device products.


Roles and Responsibilities 

·        Identify and train suppliers across a large variety of manufacturing processes

·        Cultivate supplier relationships to make them long-term partners in our success

·        On-site process oversight

·        Production troubleshooting

·        Bridge the gap between initial design and production in NPI projects by ensuring they have the right setup and training to succeed

·        Conduct physical quality control (QC) checks for manufactured parts

·        Root-cause analysis of manufacturing process failures

 

Qualifications and Skills

·        Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a closely related technical field

·        Ability and willingness to travel frequently to visit supplier facilities

·        Excellent ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and technical specs (basic understanding of GD&T is a major plus).

·        Good understanding of core mechanical manufacturing processes

·        Ability to work with a supplier to fix a problem, training them and solving problems with them

·        Clear, assertive communication skills to hold suppliers accountable to deadlines and quality standards along with basic commercial negotiation skills

 

Experience

·        Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, machine shop, tool room, or supplier-facing technical role

·        Experience with manufacturing for medical device, aerospace or defence would be an added plus
