Site Engineer

We are looking for a Site Engineer / Project Engineer to manage and supervise residential and commercial construction and interior projects from execution through completion.

The candidate will be responsible for site execution, contractor coordination, quality control, measurements, material management, project schedules, and ensuring work is completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

1. Key Responsibilities

• Site Execution & SupervisionSupervise day-to-day construction and interior execution activities at site.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, false ceiling, painting, flooring, furniture and other interior works.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure proper installation and finishing.
• Identify site issues and coordinate with the project team for timely resolution.
• Ensure proper sequencing of different trades to avoid delays and rework.

2. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Conduct regular site meetings and communicate work progress.
• Coordinate drawings and resolve site-related technical queries.
• Follow up on approvals, samples, material selections and shop drawings.
• Ensure smooth coordination between civil, MEP and interior works.

3. Quality Control

• Inspect ongoing works and ensure compliance with approved specifications and quality standards.
• Check dimensions, levels, alignment, finishes and installation quality.
• Ensure materials used at site meet approved specifications and samples.
• Identify defective or non-conforming work and ensure rectification.
• Maintain proper quality-control records and checklists.

4. Planning & Progress

• MonitoringPrepare and monitor daily/weekly work schedules.
• Track project progress against the planned schedule.
• Identify potential delays and take corrective action.
• Coordinate manpower and resources according to project requirements.
• Maintain daily site progress reports.

5. Material & Manpower Management

• Prepare material requirements based on site progress.
• Coordinate with purchase/procurement teams for timely material availability.
• Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Check incoming materials against approved specifications.
• Monitor contractor and labour productivity.

6. Measurements & Documentation

• Verify contractor/subcontractor measurements and quantities.
• Assist in preparation and checking of BOQ, RA bills, work orders and variation statements.
• Maintain site records, measurement sheets and material records.
• Maintain project documentation, drawings and site instructions.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports with photographs.

7. Safety & Site Management

• Ensure safe working practices are followed at the project site.
• Coordinate with safety personnel/contractors regarding PPE, housekeeping and site safety.
• Ensure proper storage of materials and tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized site.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions and major site issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Interior Design/Architecture or related field.
• 2–6 years of relevant site experience in construction and/or interior projects.
• Good knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
• Good understanding of civil, finishing and interior works.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of BOQ, measurements and quantity checking.
• Good contractor and labour management skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel and project documentation.
• Knowledge of project scheduling and planning is an advantage.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

The candidate should preferably have practical knowledge of:

Civil Works:

RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, tiling and finishing works.

Interior Works:

False ceiling, gypsum work, partitions, carpentry, modular furniture, wall paneling, painting, wallpaper, flooring and joinery.

MEP Coordination:

Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-fighting and other services coordination with interior works.

Site Documentation:

BOQ, quantity measurements, RA bills, material reconciliation, DPR/site reports, snag lists and handover documentation.

Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is hands-on, technically strong, responsible and capable of independently managing site activities. The candidate should have good attention to detail, strong coordination skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction and interior project environment.

Experience in turnkey residential and commercial projects will be preferred.
