Job SummaryThe Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medicines accurately and safely, maintaining pharmacy inventory and records, ensuring proper storage of medicines, and providing appropriate information regarding medication usage to patients and hospital staff as per prescriptions and hospital protocols.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDispense medicines accurately against valid prescriptions.
• Verify prescriptions for medicine name, dosage, quantity, and instructions.
• Ensure medicines are dispensed only as authorized by the concerned doctor.
• Provide patients with clear instructions regarding dosage, timing, and method of administration when required.
• Maintain proper stock of medicines, medical supplies, and pharmacy items.
• Monitor expiry dates and ensure expired or damaged medicines are not dispensed.
• Follow proper storage conditions for medicines, including temperature-sensitive products.
• Maintain pharmacy stock registers and other required records.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and inform the concerned authority about items requiring replenishment.
• Receive and verify medicines received from suppliers against invoices and purchase orders.
• Maintain proper documentation of purchases, sales, returns, and stock movements.
• Follow hospital pharmacy SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
• Handle patient and medication-related information confidentially.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, accounts, purchase, and other departments whenever required.
• Assist during pharmacy audits and stock verification.
• Report discrepancies, damaged stock, shortages, or medication-related concerns to the Pharmacy In-Charge.
• Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by management.
• Qualifications & RequirementsD.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council, as required.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of medicines, dosage forms, and basic pharmacology.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain pharmacy records.
• Ability to work in shifts when required.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience will be an advantage.
