Role Overview

We are looking for a creative, commercially driven, and detail-oriented Senior Menswear Designer to lead the design and development of premium menswear collections across tailored clothing, shirting, occasion wear, and selected ethnic categories. This role will transform seasonal concepts into commercially successful collections while preserving the timeless elegance and heritage of the P N RAO brand.

Working closely with the Design Manager and Technical/Product Developer, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping seasonal collections from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal concepts, collection themes, and category-wise design direction for premium menswear.
• Create mood boards, colour palettes, technical sketches, design presentations, and product stories.
• Design commercially relevant collections across suits, jackets, trousers, shirts, bandhgalas, tuxedos, and occasion wear.
• Research global fashion trends, customer preferences, tailoring innovations, fabrics, and competitor activities.
• Select fabrics, linings, trims, buttons, and styling details that align with the P N RAO brand identity.
• Collaborate with the Design Manager to refine collections for commercial viability and brand consistency.
• Work closely with the Technical/Product Developer to communicate design intent during sampling and product development.
• Participate in fit sessions, sample reviews, and style refinements to ensure exceptional product quality.
• Maintain seasonal design documentation, inspiration libraries, and collection archives.
• Provide creative input for catalogue styling, visual merchandising, campaigns, and product launches when required.

Requirements

• Graduate in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Menswear Design, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised fashion institute.
• 5–8 years of experience in menswear design, preferably in premium tailoring, formalwear, occasion wear, or luxury apparel.
• Strong portfolio showcasing premium menswear collections and technical design capability.
• Excellent understanding of garment silhouettes, tailoring, proportions, construction, colour, and styling.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment finishes, and premium tailoring techniques.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong presentation, communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance creativity with commercial business objectives.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced design environment.
